Will You Still Watch Glee Without Cory Monteith

Season 5 of Glee has been on for three weeks now, and though we were looking forward to another round of excellent covers, high school happiness, and the drama of relationships old and new, it's with a heavy heart that we tune in. Since Cory Monteith’s (Finn) tragic death on July 13, 2013, we’ve been considering the effects it will have on Glee. Watching the Cory Monteith Tribute was like one long bawling session. We're telling the truth when we say it was one of the harder things we've ever done in our lives. We can't even imagine what the cast felt while making or watching the episode. Will the show we’ve grown to love ever be able to thrill us the same way? And will you tune in now that the biggest episode of the show is over?
It’s a valid question to consider: Will Glee be able to approximate its wide-eyed innocence, its open-hearted approach to TV interpretations of real-life scenarios? Every imagined panicky scenario they can ever throw at us, the ones that kept us on the edge of our seats in the past, sending worried texts to friends as we watched, well... Who cares?
School shooting? Cancer? A break up? Those things have all been hard to watch, and we’ve certainly empathized with the characters as they’ve undergone their on-screen worst nightmares, but what are they really in comparison to what has happened?
Cory Monteith died and, since we found out, we’ve had at least one moment everyday when that truth has come back full force and we’ve felt like we couldn’t breathe. We’ve cried tears at intersections, felt suddenly unable to write about a minor detail emerging, and have constant dreams of varying natures about the fallen star.
Glee returned for Season 5 on September 26, and we watching the show, knowing someone so important is missing, has amplified these feelings beyond what we ever imagined. Lines Finn should have said, songs he would’ve sung better, futures that would’ve been different because Finn Hudson would have been in them... They’re all front and center in our minds, and we know we’re not alone in that thinking.
At the same time, if the cast can get back to work and make the show we love so much, how can we not watch it? If there’s one thing we’ve learned as Glee fans, it’s that we’re all in this together — cast, crew, fans... All of us. Finn wasn’t the only character we loved, and Cory isn’t the only actor we’ve come to care about over the years. We love Glee. We always have.
So, we have a serious question: with the Cory Monteith Tribute now in the books, will you continue to watch the show? — Why or why not? Weigh in below with your reasons.

Dianna Agron’s Big Career Move: Ex-Glee Star Signs With Top Talent Agency

by
Glee might not seem to want Dianna Agron (Quinn) anymore, but one of Hollywood’s top talent agencies certainly does! With Glee’s highly-anticipated Cory Monteith tribute episode just days away, people can’t stop talking about how Dianna won’t be included in the episode.
The move makes no sense since she played Finn’s girlfriend for much of Season 1. But Dianna has said she wasn’t asked to appear in the episode, and rumors are flying that both show creator Ryan Murphy and star Lea Michele (Rachel) “intensely dislike” her.

For her part, Dianna has wanted her career to move past Glee for awhile now; she’s been actively pursuing a movie career. Now, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the 27-year-old has signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) talent agency.
CAA is one of Hollywood’s top talent agencies with a long roster of A-list clients including Scarlett Johansson, Ashton Kutcher, George Clooney, Tom Cruise, Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Sandra Bullock...We could go on for a while, but we think you get the picture. If you’re looking to make it big at the movies, CAA is a good place to be. Plus, fellow Glee star Darren Criss (Blaine) is a CAA client.
Dianna was previously with WME, also a big-name agency, but one that focuses on clients in music, literature, and a variety of other areas in addition to movies. Though she’s switching agencies, Di will continue to be managed by Thor Bradwell and LBI’s Rick Yorn.
We wish Dianna all the best as she continues to go after her movie career. Her latest film, The Family, wasn’t really a smash hit, but it did give her a chance to work with big names like Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer. Here’s hoping there are plenty more films in her future!

Glee Season 5: [Spoiler]’s Shirtless — “Mind-Blowing” Lady Gaga Song (PHOTO)

Get ready to go Gaga for Glee! When the show returns in November 2013 after a month-long hiatus, the very first episode back will be centered entirely around the music of Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. Glee Season 5, Episode 4 is titled, “A Katy or a Gaga,” and now the show’s creator has tweeted the first photo from on set.
The picture shows Sam (Chord Overstreet) dressed in black pants, combat boots, a black skullcap, and wearing white angel wings. Oh, and did we mention that he’s totally shirtless?
“Chord Gaga” was all that Ryan said about the photo. It doesn’t tell us much, but it does confirm that this scene will be part of a Lady Gaga performance, not a Katy Perry one. Plus, anyone who’s seen the music video for Gaga’s 2013 hit, “Applause,” will clearly recognize Chord’s eerie angel getup.
Now that we know Glee is taking on this Gaga hit, we basically can’t stop watching the original music video. The crazy costumes. The colorful makeup. The glitter. Gaga as an actual swan? That video is chock full of crazy, random, mind-bending awesomeness, and we can’t wait to see Glee take it on.
Judging from the cast member’s tweets, they loved filming the performance, too. Kevin McHale (Artie):
Vanessa Lengies (Sugar), who left the show for a new ABC comedy, came back to visit her friends, and she calls the entire performance “mind-blowing.”
Given how epic this sounds, we’ll start preparing right now for our minds to be blown while watching it. Now, does anybody have a hand-held vacuum we could borrow? We’d rather not leave exploded brains all over the floor.
